This Privacy Policy describes how Allie & Pat (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you visit allieandpat.com(the “Site”) or place an order through our shop.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Order information — name, email address, shipping address, billing address, and phone number when you place an order.
- Payment information— handled directly by Stripe. We never see or store full card numbers. Stripe's privacy practices are described at stripe.com/privacy.
- Account information — if you create an account, we store your name and email. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and profile picture from Google; if you use a password, we store it only as a securely hashed value (never in plain text).
- Email sign-ups — if you submit your email (and optionally your first name) through a sign-up form, pop-up, or free-download offer, we store it to send you the resource you asked for and the related emails described in Section 6.
- Course and learning data — if you buy or are granted access to a course, we record your enrollment and your learning activity, including which lessons you have watched, how far through each lesson you are, lesson completion, and any quiz answers and scores.
- Communications — anything you send to us by email or through a contact form.
Information we collect automatically
- Device and usage data — IP address, browser type, pages viewed, referring URL, and approximate location, collected through standard web logs and any analytics provider we use.
- Cookies— small files we (or our service providers) place on your device to remember your cart, keep you signed in, and measure aggregate site usage. You can disable cookies in your browser, but parts of the Site (notably checkout) won't work without them.
- Course playback diagnostics — when you watch a course lesson, we may record technical playback events (for example, buffering or errors) and your position in the video so we can keep your progress and troubleshoot problems.
- Marketing attribution — when you arrive from a link or campaign, we may record the referring page and standard campaign tags (such as UTM parameters) so we know which efforts brought you here.
2. How we use your information
- To process and fulfill your orders.
- To give you access to courses you buy or are granted, and to save your learning progress.
- To send transactional email (order confirmations, shipping updates, refunds, course access).
- To send the free resources and marketing email you sign up for, and to measure how those emails perform.
- To answer support questions you send us.
- To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
- To comply with our legal and tax obligations.
- To improve the Site and understand how it is used in aggregate.
3. How we share your information
We share information only with the following categories of recipients:
- Payment processor — Stripe, to charge your card and handle refunds.
- Fulfillment partners — Printful (for print-on-demand apparel and goods) and shipping carriers, to print, pack, and ship your order.
- Email provider — Resend, to deliver transactional email such as receipts and shipping notifications.
- Hosting and infrastructure — Vercel and our database provider, who store our data on our behalf.
- Authentication — Google, if you choose to sign in with Google.
- Security and bot protection — Cloudflare, whose Turnstile service helps us tell real visitors from bots on forms such as sign-up, checkout, and login.
- Authorities — when required by law, subpoena, or other lawful process, or to protect our rights or the safety of others.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
4. Data retention
We keep order records for as long as needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, and comply with our legal, tax, and accounting obligations. Account data is kept while your account is active and for a reasonable period after closure to honor refunds, returns, and fraud investigation.
5. Your choices and rights
- Access, correction, deletion — email hi@allieandpat.comfrom the address tied to your order or account and we'll honor lawful requests within a reasonable time.
- Marketing email — every marketing email we send includes a one-click unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time. Transactional email (such as receipts, shipping updates, and course access) is part of providing the service and is sent even if you have unsubscribed from marketing. See Section 6.
- Cookies — most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings.
6. Marketing email and subscriptions
When you submit your email through a sign-up form, pop-up, or free-download offer, you are asking to hear from us. We use your email and optional first name to send the resource you requested and a related series of emails about our brand, products, and courses. We track opens and clicks to understand what is useful and to improve what we send.
You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in the footer of every marketing email, or by emailing hi@allieandpat.com. When you unsubscribe we stop sending marketing email and keep a record of your request so we don't add you again by mistake. Unsubscribing from marketing does not stop transactional email tied to your orders or course access.
7. Courses and learning data
If you buy or are granted access to a course, we keep your enrollment and the learning activity needed to run the course and show your progress — including lessons watched, your position in each lesson, completion status, and any quiz answers and scores. We use this to unlock content, save your place, issue completion, and improve our lessons. Course purchases are processed by Stripe and recorded the same way as other orders described above.
8. Children
The Site is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
For our For Kids By Kids program, only first names and ages of young artists are shown publicly, and only after a parent or guardian has signed a written consent form on file with us. Parent and guardian contact information is kept private and used only for receipts, consent correspondence, and payouts.
9. International users
Our servers and service providers are based in the United States. If you visit the Site from outside the U.S., you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S.
10. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards (encryption in transit, access controls, vendor agreements). No system is perfectly secure; if we ever experience a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you in line with applicable law.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be highlighted on the Site or sent to your account email.
